Mehrunes Razor was shit on Oblivion (I technically bought it twice, on Ecksbawx and later got it in the GOTY edition on PC), so on principal I will not use it again.

It's the most powerful dagger in the game and even though it has the 1% chance to kill again, it doesn't have the soul charge as it did in Oblivion.

You mean like having to recharge with a gem? THere is an easy to get reusable soul gem... Black version is 10x better but even the white version is just fine for recharging all your enchanted weapons as much as you need.

Why has noone mentioned this thing yet????? It's fucking AWESOME and a MUST HAVE for everyone doing enchanting OR using enchanted weapons

Azura's star? It's been in the past two Elder Scroll games. It would be a bit of a bigger deal too if I didn't find a plethora of grand souls and greater soul gems with said souls in the gems.

Plus. there's, to my knowledge, no Umbra in this one, which makes filling up soul gems a chore.

All I was saying is that the plethora of geeky terms/discussion in this thread is off-putting, but the game is actually fun. You, on the other hand, seem to be correlating my view on Skyrim with the amount of times I post about MW3.

And... the Black Star fills VERY easy.

Soul Trap Bandit -> Get filled black star (= to Grand soul in power) -> Enchant an Item -> Rinse & Repeat -> Profit$$$

Seriously... The world is FILLED with easy to kill bandits... and each one is potentially a grand soul for enchanting.

I'll discover some new camp... then make runs back and forth from the nearest hold to enchant 1 item at a time. Return to grab another Grand soul, and make a nice set of gear for absolutely free and very little actual work. The worst part about it is the load times to the camp and back to the hold.... but considering I'm getting a free $1500 soul gem for use each time for insanely low effort... I consider it worth the 2 minutes per enchantment.

Not good for power leveling really.... Petty gems are good for that (Also, if you enchant waterbreathing onto jewelry... you can use petty souls and it doesn't effect quality. But it IS amazing for crafting your own gear when you would actually use grand souls... also, you can use it to fully recharge any enchanted weapon with it.... and refill the black star on the next humanoid you kill.

I don't deny the usefulness of the star, I just find it pointless when I've already found an absurd number of grand soul gems pre-filled with grand souls. It diminishes the value of the daedric artifact.

No, it's really not applicable. I wasn't saying you guys are posting about Skyrim in every thread, but you say that's what I'm doing with MW3. If I'm not saying that, then I'm not being a hypocrite. And if I'm not being a hypocrite, then the idiom doesn't apply.
