Diablo III release date

The reason there isn't an offline single player mode is because of Hacking, and the gold/real money auction house.

They explained this, basically the offline mode would be a completely separate thing, a character that you create that you can NEVER co-op with, and none of the items you get can be traded.

It'll be much easier for me to lobby to my boss for an entire farm of new servers if I tell him "I only need one more server" though I'm sure he'll shit his pants when he gets the receipt........

A single server is not literally applicable. This is a metaphor.

I was pointing out your gross understatement. It wasn't a metaphor, you made a gross understatement and tried to pass it off as a metaphor.

And also... what sense is there in setting up and supplying servers for 100x or more normal traffic?

The problem is pretty obvious and blatant to anyone who looks at the scenario. You have 2+ million people who ALL want to start playing at the same time who normally would be spread out across different available time frames.

That's the problem with global launch times... and as Gnarly pointed out, the ONLY way around it is to stagger release which carries it's own grievances.

And that is it right there, investing in the infrastructure for the first day, or week, or 2 weeks, to then have to downsize for the usual traffic (or in some MMO cases, the loss of subscribers after 30 days) Management catch 22 really

Fun fact, spells scale heavily off of weapon damage. It scales off of intelligence too, but weapons scale a lot better.

Spiders have to be the most fun. The exploding toads...they're interesting alright, but too random to do anything.

Also, your running corpse is going to be your trump card along with your Soul Harvest. You will murder everything lol.

Rolled a good old generic barb to start. Halfway through act 2 and kicking the shit out of everything. Earthquake ftw.

I think what they did with Diablo 3 in terms of having to be online is good. If you saw what happened in Diablo 2.... all of the hacks, exploits, game-ruining glitches, bots, etc... Hell, even I ran a bot to find gear. That's all become much more difficult now, because ye average coder can't risk getting banned 20 times before finding out if his bot works (since they can't test it on Open Bnet or single player).

I LOVE that you can take your singleplayer chars into multiplayer.

My barb is an unkillable regenerative health/defensive tank machine. I make elite mobs in hell mode my bitch while other people get killed over and over again, it's hilarious.

Still haven't made it to Hell, haven't played as much lately. My Witch Doctor ended up sucking in A3 NM so I started over with a Monk who's now in NM A2.

Barbs are supposed to be the toughest hardest to kill class.

Monk might do alright.

Monks are just silly. Nightmare isn't an issue, and Hell might be a struggle. Inferno is just...hot damn. Those Act III mobs fuck everyone up.

I think the ranged/caster classes are more dependent on group play at higher difficulty... but maybe can still put out more DPS when they are in a group environment to make them still worth it.
