I have plenty of friends who play soccer IRL in teams and everything, but they still like playing soccer games just for fun. My cousin for instance plays both religiously, he's one of the best on his team and he's gotten offers from professional soccer teams in Brazil to play.

I was at his house yesterday and we went out, played some soccer, went to the pool and then played some Fifa. It's fun. You can't exactly go outside and play a full soccer match with 11 players per team on a full sized soccer field.

There's also the fact that people like playing as their favorite teams, and progressing through tournaments and all that other stuff. I've never bought a Fifa game cause I dont really care much about the SP, but playing with friends/family is really fun.
