So...

Map spread looks about the same.

Couple big maps, vehicle dependent
Couple really tight maps, pure Infantry
Couple small mixed Infantry/Vehicle maps
Couple larger (but not huge) mixed Infantry/Vehicle maps (with boats)

So whats that, nine maps on release? Excluding 'Back to Karkand' expansion...not too shabby.

yah, and all modes on all maps this time... so no BS map packs that are just proliferation of existing maps across the missing modes.

B2K will add 4 more maps on it's own rotation with it's own vehicles and weapons

Additionally B2K owners will be able to use the B2K weapons in core BF3 modes

Finally core BF3 map packs SHOULD be free if they hold to the policy of not splitting the community....

They will sell paid DLC like B2K, as well as maybe some other DLC (Maybe Air Superiority will be a paid DLC for example)

I'm hoping for a 1:1 ratio of paid & free DLC

That's good, especially since all 9 maps are on all 4 game modes. More replayability there in terms of content than BC2 had a year after release.

The island and industrial harbor maps look good, but visually they remind me of BC2. Arica Harbor anybody?

CQ, Rush, TDM, SqRush, SqDM

IMO metro woulda been 10x better if there was navigable ground above the subway... with a few entry points.

then in CQ vehicles could traverse the entire above ground area. There could be a flag in the park, underground, above the subway, and in the city at the end of the subway

Woulda still played 90% the same for Rush, except there would be a couple more routes for attackers during the subway portion, and CQ would actually be a good map

Metro is fine. Even though it's a bit on the linear side, there is no point on the map where you get funneled into one entrance (unless you're team is filled with a bunch of fucktarded lemmings.)

These 9 maps, plus B2K, is enough content for me for at least a year....

Hell, once Karkand hits, I could probably just play that map for a year....

Every time I see B2K I think of BC1, Im sure Skylar does too

I think I will love all of the maps except for Operation Metro.
Operation Metro Conquest could be entirely different but I'm not expecting anything spectacular.
