lmao just got this PM from a guest who's panning for work as an SEO specialist (which, btw... is fuckin hilarious as a job title for a number of reasons I won't bore you all with)

SUBJECT: [Contact] Organic SEO - Gametanamo.com

Gametanamo.com Team,

I thought you might like to know some of the reasons why you are not getting enough Social Media and Organic search engine traffic for Gametanamo.com

1.Your website Gametanamo.com is not ranking top in Google organic search for many competitive keyword phrases.

2. Your website profile is not available in most of the Social Media Websites.

3. Your site has 0 Google back links, this can be improved further.

There are many additional improvements that could be made to your website, and if you would like to learn about them, and are curious to know what our working together would involve, then I would be glad to provide you with a detailed analysis in the form of a WEBSITE AUDIT REPORT for FREE.

Our clients consistently tell us that their customers find them because they are at the top of the Google search rankings. Being at the top left of Google (#1- #3 organic positions) is the best thing you can do for your company's website traffic and online reputation.

Sounds interesting? Feel free to email us or alternatively you can provide me with your phone number and the best time to call you.

My sentiments exactly.

Even better... why the fuck would we pay someone to do it?

Also, SEO is fudgeable. I know how someone used a $5 labor site to have people write up a short article, and then other people to copy said article with some synonym changes to get massively spiked ratings in relevancy.... for $20... letting other people do all the work...

And really, what would hike up our rating the most is if everyone here included link backs in sigs/social profiles, etc...

but I mean really... do we give a fuck about ranking #1 in google? Do we care enough to go through all that bullshit?

SEO is fucking easy really.... it's just time consuming and this is a fuckin small community site so gives a frack lol

yep

We actually have a good amount of organic search traffic due to Skyrim, and BF3 weapon stats searches, which for some reason google puts us on the front page for certain posts in here...

we still get about 1k+ unique views a week

is it bad that I regularly misspell gametanamo.com and end up typing gametanamocom or gaytanamo.ocm, leading me to Google results that feature us on the first page? I mean, I'm probably that guy who tries to find this site by elaborate searches. I don't want you to think that's other people. Then to find the site later I just hit G and the first suggested result is my failed misspelling. So until I clear my browser history, I probably access this site via google a few dozen times.

Yeah, but that ping still counts as 1 unique visit for the site. So doesn't throw off our numbers

Urchin stats? Probably inflated from bot traffic actually....

Should install google analytics if you want more accurate visitor traffic stats.

Google Analytics is how I get my stats

PM me your email and I can give you access if you're curious.
