| Anybody remember this game? I just got it for 10 buck and I'm blown away by the destruction. It's freaking epic. Like the first game to ever have dynamic destruction. Not like stupid destruction in BF3 (which I was really dissapointed with btw)
But yeah, Red faction is awesome. I remember playing the original on PS2 and it even had destruction then.
If battlefield 4 eer comes out they could learn a few things from the Red Faction series.

| I played the ORIGINAL on PC back in like 98-99
It was amazing.
I was surprised when destruction didn't pick up right away actually.

| You mean like pick by everyone releasing games with destruction?
It's funny, red faction Guerillas came out in 2009 before even BFBC2 came out. And BF3 comes and is destruction it's anywhere near as realistic as Red Faction

| Red faction destruction is the complete opposite of realistic. You could take down a building just by farting too loudly in that game. | |

Yah.... there's was way to weak. Still, I did like how structures were.... well... structural. In BF3 the supports are indestructible. In RF they were the weak point like you'd expect them to be. Honestly I can't wait for true realistic environmental destruction. Everything has realistic properties and gets shot/blown up properly based upon what force is hitting it. Thats a shitton of processing though. A fucking SHIT TON. So don't go holding your breath.

| Yeah fuck them. But seriously. Destruction.... Awesome
Buildings aren't actually that weak. Just maybe the floors of buildings

| I dunno......
the destruction was structural... which was cool... but that was really all it had going for it.
And buildings were pretty weak FFS.... you could run in with a damn hammer and knock out a couple supports in most buildings to cause it to crumble down lol
It didn't have a gritty feeling to it though.... it had an arcady feeling to it. But then, that could just be because all the structures were just settlement paneling.
Brick and mortar. Wood and drywall. Makes for a more relational experience.

In multiplayer you'd be like the Vietcong, making tunnels all around the map and popping out to shoot some poor sod in the face. I had so much fun on that game, give me 20 detpacks and I'd create art.
