| Yes it is You can be charged for pointing an unloaded gun at someone even if they are on your property, the gun laws are very strict up here, you can actually shoot someone in self defense in your home though, his problem was that he went outside and shot, in this case it is kind of understandable that he did get charged, what if someone who wasnt even involved got hit? The moral of this story is to only shoot someone inside your house, as soon as it goes outside then there is the possibility that someone else can get hurt or the possibility that whoever you were gonna shoot could get away in which case there would be no need to shoot them As I mentioned before the way you store your guns is a big thing up here too, cops have even been charged with improper storage at their homes, I cant see why its a problem for anyone to follow this rule though | |

| Police would never show up in time... his dog might have been more critically injured or even killed if he waited that long.
I fucking hate people who say "You should call the police"
Fuck that... I have the NATURAL GOD GIVEN RIGHT to defend myself, and my own.
Doesn't matter if he fired into air or not anyways really. who the fuck is out there? You're in fucking canada. You're neighbor is 30 miles from you.
This is a ridiculous case that would never enter into the court system here.... The cops wouldn't have been able to do shit with the footage since they're all masked and w/e... but they sure as fuck wouldn't charge the VICTIM with a goddamn crime for defending his property
You people are idiots if you rely on police for everything.

You people are idiots if you rely on police for everything. Ya Im stupid for relying on the police since I can just go out and handle everything on my own, except for it being illegal to do that, we can defend ourselves, as I already said you mongoloid, but its not willy nilly like it is in the states, you cant just walk out and start capping people on your property, look at our crime rates and gun crimes, its pretty low here in Canada for a reason Even though the gun laws are tight up here I agree with them overall

Ya we all cant be as tough and hate the cops as much as some paranoid anti-government fuckhead can Cops are the same as every other profession on the face of the earth, some are dickheads that have power tripping issues, some are fine, Ive ran into plenty of cops that are fucking douchehammers and Ive run into a few that were cool

the problem is, Police have the power to be FUCKING EPIC douchebags
I really honestly and truly do hate cops tho... They've given me nothing but grief in my 10 years out of the Army... A few times while I was in too actually, but being on post kept me away from them most of the time.
Hell, even got harrassed a few times before joining.
Don't you twats... you know... have some REAL CRIMINALS to go fuck with?

| The way I see it, if he had hit somebody innocent then sure it would make sense that he face jail.
But for defending his property? His own fuckin property, where no innocent bystanders should be in anyways? That makes no fucking sense DTECH, pull your head out of your ass. The man lives in a rural, remote area. If he had simply called the police it would have taken them at least 10 minutes to arrive, by which his house would have been completely burned down.
And he's facing jail for protecting his life? That's motherfucking bullshit. What kind of world do we live in where we no longer have the right to defend ourselves?

20 meters, anything further and it will probably erase from existence due to packet drop, lagg or dodgy hit detection.

Depends on angle/height/etc, but chances are very high that if they dont hit their target they'll hit some random object before coming into contact with an innocent bystander. Do police officers avoid using firearms on the streets/inside buildings just because there's a chance it could hit some random person? No they dont. The fact that you even obtain a weapon license should be good enough to determine your judgement when using one. Judgement and motive are everything. If you KNOW that youre in your own property where you know nobody could be unintentionally injured, and you have the NEED to defend your life and your home, why the FUCK should you not be allowed to use a gun? Get the fuck out of here. Youre either the biggest dumbass or the biggest troll. Pick one.

Effectively? Depends on the caliber. Old WW1 Russian 7.62x54r calibre can be potentially lethal up to 2000 meters away. The .38 special the old dude had? I'd probably say something under 400 yards at the most. - Eradicated wrote:
