I'm not going to explain economics and book balancing to you.

You bought the laptop for $800.

The fact that you sold your other laptop for $400 is inconsequential to that fact.

Even if the laptop was DIRECTLY PART OF THE TRADE, you would have to include the potential sale value of the laptop into the direct dollar cost on top of the trade.

The laptop you bought, you bought for $800. How is this difficult to comprehend? You even stated it yourself! And then follow it with "I sold my old laptop for $400 so I really only bought the laptop for $400 hurr durr".

What you sell to be able to afford the purchase does NOT reduce the cost of the purchase... .and that kind of mentality is exactly what allows Gamestops tradeins to thrive so well "hurr durr I bought this game for only $20"

no dumbass, you bought it for $20 + a bunch of games that they'll make even more money off of. You no longer have those games and can no longer use them towards the purchase of yet another new game, and so therefore, they are "spent"

$800 for the laptop you got is a great deal, I never said otherwise. All I'm saying is that you did NOT buy it for $400. Even funnier is that it's not like you bought it for $400 cash and your laptop, you SOLD your laptop for $400 cash and then bought the Best Buy laptop for $800 cash so how the hell you're rationalizing this is beyond me.

My Vanu will be one of those fast vehicle drivers that people use just for bowling over infantry

My TR will be a Mosqito pilot

My NC will prolly be an airship pilot at first... also my "main" so I'll be working on his infantry capability more than the others.

But, I HATE THE TR!! ever since PS1. you will probably end up hating one specific faction if you get into the game.

I'm not really talking lore, each faction tends (at least in PS1) to get their own style of how they play due to how each faction has different types of vehicles/guns. It is almost like a SC2 faction balancing, where they are different yet balanced.

NC are usually slower in both speed, and weapon fire speed, but are more heavily armored and hit harder with each shot.
TR have quick vehicles, sometimes even with more passenger/gunner seats in them and have very high rate of fire weapons, usually lower damage per bullet
and the VS are highly adaptable and maneuverable, with crazy alien tech that can lead to some interesting guns and stuff.

This concept actually changes TACTICS of each faction to play to their strengths, thus I hate the TR due to their "Zerg like" strategy that tends to happen sometimes.

But there will be toys in each faction I want to play with... so I'll just have a soldier in my 2 'alt' factions specced just for the vehicle I want to use.

NC is getting my main focus because of their Infantry Guns.

I'll definitely be NC or Vanu.

Not fighting to save some dictatorship!
