| Got the SP from TPB to see if it'd run, and does fine on Medium. /v/ tells me the MP is actually less demanding than the SP, so PC FPS here I come. Origin can go fuck itself though, how do I avoid? | |

| you DON'T avoid Origin....
that's what's got all the Steam fans in a panzy
You need to have the origin launcher and use battlelog in a browser to play BF3 on PC.... honestly doesn't seem like it is any more inefficient than loading and menu screens quite frankly, so I don't see the big deal...
But ppl do tend to have unreasonable fear of change... which is probably where most of the aversion comes from.

| That said... I plan on building a PC this year.
New medieval combat game "War of Roses" that's a PC exclusive... I want to play PROPER 64 plyr BF3... and wouldn't mind getting back into SC2 and some other PC gaming. Will probably also pick up a torrent of Skyrim (I bought 1 copy dammit) just so I can play it once with mods.

Except you're going to have an amazing amount of traffic through the browser page (as was one of the issues during release for the following month,) along with your basic web problems. Although, I'm mildly surprised on how effective origin is when going offline, unlike some other programs *cough* steam *cough*. Also, it's a byproduct of EA, which = wallet gouger. I mean, competition is nice and all, but this is more of a mafia coming on the other's turf. One gouges prices and keeps all the profit to themselves, and the other sells everything dirt-cheap, but whoever is going through steam loses probably just as much, if not more money. @Alyss Unless someone can do some WookieMode reverse-engineering and get a beautiful crack running, you won't be able to do anything about origin.

| ^And said crack would prevent you from using official servers....
so kinda pointless. | |

| I dunno, /v/ was shitting their pants about Origin. I personally was looking for ways round it because finding servers through a fucking website seemed retarded as regards bandwidth. After actually using it myself, it seems fine, so god knows what the problem was.
I did run into BF3's hilarious 'Allow Punkbuster = No' by default, but managed to sort it out with minimal fuss. So....anyone else play this on PC?

| Battlelog is shit. Half the time you cant connect to servers, Sometimes the stupid fucking side takes an age and a half to refresh. It's anoying as all pissfuck.
who ever though of selling a web-based game on a CD is a fucking moron. I'll never buy anything that works remotely similar again. I even get anoyed launching through another program (Like steam or origin) but anything that requires a web browser to be in play can go fuck it's self.

| My PC is easily capable of running it, I just can't justify buying it again when I already have it on 360. Although, 32-64 players is very enticing. | |
