| yah, Borderlands is great for pure shooter fans.... you rank and level up, and there is a semblance of story going on, but it's basically diablo with a gun in FPS.
Biggest drawback is not enough activated abilities.

| Borderlands was awful RPG-wise, and the shooting wasn't the best in the world either, got very stale very quickly.
Best RPG out there has to be Mass Effect 2, without a shadow of a doubt. Awesome story, epic abilities, amazing shooting aspects. It has it all.
I'm still plowing through Dragon Age: Origins at the moment, which is another RPG. It has some brilliant voice acting, especially from Alistair, Sten and Morrigan.

| Oblivion, Dragon Age: Origins, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Borderlands, Mass Effect 1 and 2.
Don't get Dragon Age II or Fable II-III the first Fable is epic though.
If you have a DS lite or GBA I'd suggest Golden Sun & Golden Sun TLA. Golden Sun: Dark Dawn blows though. Chrono Trigger is another good one if you have a DS.
If you don't mind out-dated graphics Morrowind is epic, still the greatest game ever made imo.

| Borderlands is more Shooter then RPG.... you level up and loot gear... and there is sorta a BG story going on (which isn't half bad... it's entertaining if nothing else. Atmosphere is funny) Speaking of Borderlands... who here on 360 has it? I've got a half dozen chars I haven't played in a while cause honestly, SP does get boring after a while.... it's real charm is in co-oping. Baddies get badder, loot gets better, and everything is just more fun. Random rooms are hit and miss though.... with a lot more missing then hitting. I've got all the DLC though have only finished Zed's Island (solo) the arena is just a lot to 1 man haha and Zeds was just the most fun to entertain me for SP. so much fun mowing down zombies with my massive mag LMG's as Roland... oh, and 26 round shotguns | |

| I've got Borderlands, and all the DLC. Haven't touched it in months, though it'd be cool to start a new character and go through it all with someone. | |

| ^Agreed.
Soldier and Siren were my fav classes.
Soldier for insane shotgun and ar's, Siren for super speed, igniting, stunning bullet goodness.

| It's been awhile since I played but I liked the class that had the Hawk... even though the Hawk part of the class sucked.
I liked all the talents that activated when you killed an opponent, plus all the passive damage increasing talents.

That and the combat rifles were the only things worth using really. Think I might play through it again with Siren just to fk around with all the elements.

| yah, Siren + Elemental SMG's is nuts.
Start with the middle tree, grab both T1 to increase RoF and elemental proc rate, the tier3 skill that is proc on kill that boosts movement speed and XP gain, and the T4 skill that gives you a fire aura.
Then work yourr way down the left tree to pump your survivability, giving you bigger shields, health regen on phasewalk, shield regen on kill, and bullets that slow enemies (while also proccing elemental dmg)
Enemies just MELT... just make sure to shoot all the barrels cause your aura will set em off killing you lmao

| Allegedly the highest DPS in the game is Brick with his fists. I have watched playthroughs on YouTube where a guy was just "murderizing" people (a highly technical term that I just made up). | |

| I find zerking brick obnoxious.... he is constantly yelling while in berzerk mode and if you play that way for all combat, then it's nonstop.
I played brick as an explosive specialist, and he's alright doing that, and he's got some amazing durability specs in his tanking tree. I just use Zerk to regen mostly.
It's not bad though.... it is kinda fun to zerk around, but I just can't play pure zerk all the time... fortunately respeccing is dirt cheap
@Space: I have an amazing memory for game mechanics and builds... comes from playing all 4 editions of D&D

I was going to buy dark dawn a few weeks ago but the back cover made it look like shit, and hell yeah, chrono trigger rules! Also, there are so many mods available for morrowind, you can make the graphics look like that of a modern game.

| yah, Brick is god damn obnoxious.... I only go use his zerk for a mission or 2 before I gotta respec out of it.... and that's his damn action skilL!
The Hunters Action skill is stup-idly OP when you spec it out... for lvling at least. every 15secs you send out "Jesus Bird" to go kill, or at least heavily dmg and daze, 6 enemies while also getting a full heal... wtfbbqsauce? kinda boring really. I started speccing into Marksman and gunslinger just to avoid using the damn thing.... but then once again you give yup your action skill
That's why I like Soldier and Siren the best. I always use their action skill no matter what build I use (Though my soldier always at least has regen aura on the turret... I also almost always take the on kill proc regen aura.) In both cases their skills pretty much always augment your own normal combat, vs a stupidly OP kill everything bird and an annoying everyone mute your sound mode

| I had a gamebreaker as a Soldier for Borderlands, effectively meant I could kill anything stupidly quickly.
Max out the tree that makes the turret give you ammo and stuff
Get the mod for your grenades that make it so the damage done by them heals you, this will make your grenades explode into loads of little white beams that home in on the enemy.
Lob all your grenades, chuck turret down, get grenades back, rinse and repeat, the cooldown on the turret should be low so you have a limitless supply of grenades.

| You should also get the grenade talent in the support tree..... it gives you +15% nade dmg and nade regen on kill.... You can spam nades all day long. Really fun when you're also running with a shotgun (or 4 ) I usually run with betties or rain nades though.... more dmg output, and you don't need healing when both your turret and you kill procs regen you at a rate of 7% per second each. I only use the healing nades really with Mord (the hunter) when I don't have the Jesus Bird specced... also sometimes with the Siren cause her healing only gives her 30% per phasewalk. | |

| I only use the healing 'nades because you don't have to aim the 'nades, you can just hammer the 'nade button.
I used it in a duel against my mate (who was Lilith), chucked a turret down, spammed nades, knocked Lilith out of stealth and sprayed the hell out of 'em.

| haha, next duel you should lvl up a hunter, spec out ur jesus bird, and toss him out before the duel starts... as SOON as the duel commences he'll get nailed and killed in (likely) 1 hit from the bird.
Funniest and fastest duel win ever
