Yeah. I guess a peaceful end to their revolution is out of the question.
The US and UK have fired 112 missiles are targets in Lybia, mainly to counter anti-air forces. Meanwhile over a dozen French jets are there enforcing the no fly zone.
Does Gadhafi actually think he can win? The entire world is out to get him.

| Gadhafi knows he can't win, I think he just wants to go down in a blaze of glory, he's a bit mental like that. He already admitted to the Lockerbie bombings, meaning that if he was captured, he's buggered. Might as well go down fighting. | |

| "I have all the Libyan people with me and I'm prepared to die. And they are prepared to die for me. Men, women and even children," Gadhafi said in a letter addressed to Obama and read to reporters by a government spokesman in Tripoli.
From CNN. His top aides are saying he'll off himself when he's about to lose too. So my guess is that he will throw 100% at the coalition forces and then disappear.

| Can the United States please stop getting into this stuff.
We risk our lives to save their citizens, and even after we save them, their citizens think of Americans as lower then dirt.
Whats the point. | |

Whats the point. I seem to remember the US getting pretty angry when al-Megrahi was released.

| US was pretty obligated here. It's not an actual war anyway regardless of what Gadaffi's calling it. UN and NATO were involved and that equates to responsibility for the US to act.

| Besides, all the news I've seen has the rebels loved the US, UK and French to bits, precisely because they helped. | |

| But they're not exporting all that much to us, we get like 2% of our oil from them and most of their oil is untapped and therefore would be extremely expensive to extract, when we have plenty of oil right now that is easily extracted. | |

| yah.. but eventually those reserves will need to be tapped... and so of course a more pro-american regime would be preferred.
Expensive? HA, they just take any expense, and double the cost back to the consumer to make even more profits. The more "expensive" the oil is to get, the more profit they make on it.

| Gadhaffi was very pro-America. After Iraq got invaded the man did a complete 180 and stopped his nuke program and started cooperating to the fullest. It was more beneficial to us to keep him in power actually.
I already explained OPEC to you once I think and you don't seem to have learned anything. Please research before pretending to know anything about the oil market.

| I really dont think this is gonna end anytime soon. The guy's got resources, he can easily decide to terrorize the countries that attacked him. | |

| We're not in Iran because Iran would be a big war. They could do a lot of damage to the area, millions could die. That would be a serious problem, and Russia & China kinda support Iran so Iran is risky as hell. Obviously Iran wouldn't stand a chance but it's about protecting Israel.

| Wtf are we even doing in Libya anyway let them do whatever the fudge they're gonna do and if they fire a missile at us blow them the fudge up.
I don't know why we're trying to be global peacekeepers unless we're obligated by UN treaties or some shit.
We need to fix our economy not get all tangled up in other peoples shit... I don't know if they think we can fix our economy by going to war like we did in WWII but obviously that's not the case.
