I wanted a topic for this as it doesn't really fit the other MC topics.

Post anything MC related from your worlds/servers etc.

Do you guys play the Classic version or the new one? Thinking about buying MC, but if the free version is any good i'll just use that.

They aren't even similar.

Classic just gives you a random selection of blocks and all can be destroyed and created instantly and without consequence.

The paid version (beta 1.3_01 atm) is called Survival and is available in singleplayer or multiplayer varieties. The whole point of survival is that it is much more resources based. You must make tools to collect resources and you can craft blocks together to make new blocks and items. You make swords, bows and arrows, pickaxes and loads more things. At night nasty creatures come out, zombies, skeletons, creepers etc. that will try to make your life misery.

I don't play SP very much but a bunch of us play on our MP server and we are building our base still.

I have had so much more quality gameplay out of that little game than I have from Black Ops.

So, yeah ...I finally got round to buying MC. Played through single player, died within 3 minutes when zombies and skeletal archers ambushed me outside a cave cave whilst getting coal.

Seriously though, its great. Best crafting system ive ever seen in a game.


Would anyone mind sharing their MP server IP or that of one they regulary use? SP will is fun, but its gets lonely and boring after a while like most games.

lol. Render distance tiny and graphics on fast might work. even on my moms shitty laptop it worked on render distance short. If you want to download it for free and see if it works youtube xCloudyDay and follow his tutorial. (single player only)

Its really simple you just need winrar. Sometimes when you click on the shortcut for the first time it will say launcher not found but try a couple of times and it will work. Btw, its not a torrent or a virus. I have norton security 2011 and it said it was safe and I've been using it for like 2 weeks.

And if you dont want it, ignore everything above.

I've tried it, framerate just sucks.

That sucks, but in all honesty it was cool for a while and now I dont feel like playing at all. I know for sure it would be fun if I could play multiplayer but its just not worth $15 for me.

But on the other hand I got GTA:SA for free, it runs great and I've almost beat it.

Idk, I played the trial on the website and it actually ran well, and I enjoyed it. I bet I'd like the full game a lot, I like building things so yeah.

And SA, been there done that.

Lol the trial is pathetic. I enjoyed building things as well, have a huge cruise ship and a 4 story house, but gathering supplies is just way too tedious. The other day I was literally cutting down trees for 2 hours. Cleared my whole island. Cant see myself building much more without something like INVedit.

Yea. You actually have to gather the blocks to build.

Which is half the fun. On our server we normally embark on some giant excavation project first (i.e. giant mob grinders) which gives us a ton of cobblestone/ore/mud/gravel etc. then use up the resources to make some sort of tower/structure etc.
